As an avid collector, we travel near and far to see many cars that are advertised or we that we hear of. Most trips are dead ends or disappointing because a cars condition is frequently exaggerated. When this Lincoln was backed out of the owners garage right here in Sacramento, it appeared to be in perfect condition. Closer inspection showed it had only 38 K miles from new. The entire car was 100% excellent original as though it just came from the new car dealer that day. It had a perfect black finish with a taupe leather and brocade interior. The added bonus was the car was equipped with factory air.
The Lincoln was purchased new in 1962 at RJ Lincoln Mercury in Sacramento by twin brothers who used the car sparingly for 35 years collecting a little over 1000 miles each year. After every trip out the car was completely cleaned underneath and under the hood. The car never spent a night out of the garage and was covered in the garage including engine, trunk and upholstery. The result of this meticulous care is perhaps the nicest most original suicide door Lincoln’s in existence.
