The 1955 Imperial made its debut in a massive way. The new double wing grille and sleek side trim jetting all the way back to the “gunsight” taillights was a glorious departure from the 1954 model year. Powered by Chrysler’s Firepower 331 backed with the Powerflight automatic transmission the Imperial for 1955 gave its owner the best of Chryslers offerings- Performance power and luxury.
For the early 1955 offering, Imperial produced a limited number of “Springtime Edition” examples in Sunburst yellow with Platinum roof. According to Chrysler Club records our example is the only “Springtime Edition” remaining. Our example is also equipped with rare factory air conditioning and fresh air intake scoops can be seen behind the rear window.
