1954 CHRYSLER GS-1 COUPE GHIA
In the late 40’s and early 50’s Chrysler suffered from lack luster styling . In hopes of turning around this stodgy image, Chrysler began a relationship with Gha of Turin building a series of cars inspired by the designs of chief stylist Virgil Exner. These Ghia specials were built from 1951 to 1954. In 1954 records show that 9 of the GS 1 models were built. Five are still in existence. The GS 1 used the New Yorker platform and was powered by the 331 CU in the Hemi engine coupled to a Powerflite transmission.
