Our car was correctly restored and won an AACA first at Hershey some years ago. Dodge sold approximately 2000 convertibles in 1954. Few cars have survived. Most of the survivors are Pace Car replicas that totaled 700 units of the original production. They were all yellow with black lettering as they were the official Pace Car for the Indy 500 Race in 1954. Our car was one of the non Pace Car replicas finished in a lovely baby blue fitted with a continental kit and wire wheels. Under the hood was the famous Dodge Ram Hemi with 240 cubic inches. Coupled with automatic Powerflite Transmission, this V8 never took second when compared to cars in its class like Pontiac or Mercury. While these Dodges were not the best sellers of the era, they are scarce today and widely sought after by knowledgeable collectors.
