A true roadster has no roll up windows and room for two passengers. This Dodge uses side curtains that are stored behind the front seat. Dodge made this car to offer a low priced convertible in 1949. Half way through the model year, the dealers complained that they could not sell a car without roll up windows. Later 1949 Dodges were offered with windows. The cars to collect are the early cars that are true roadsters as is our example. Survival rate was low on these cars which makes the ones that have survived highly collectible and sought after.
